1. My biggest
challenge has been trying to stay focused on one idea, instead of indulging all
the other ideas running wild in my head begging for my attention.
2. I learned
that I have a bit of a dark humor to my writing that I didn’t notice before
now. I am good at voice and using
similes for description, but bad at making my ideas clear and organized.
3. I’ve learned
to give myself time for a rough draft and brainstorming, and not to expect a
perfect story to come out at first.
4. I’ve grown in
my writing as I struggled to make my stories have deeper meaning, but at the
same time not try to over think things.
5. I feel good
writing and thinking about my writing; in fact, I think about my stories
constantly, much to the annoyance of my teachers. I think I learn through reviewing.
6. I have been a
little more open-minded and patient with writing since I joined my Creative
Writing class.
7. My favorite
part of writing is getting to daydream and let my mind take me wherever it
wants to. My least favorite part of
writing is struggling to put my ideas onto paper, which is surprisingly
difficult.
8. I can grow as
a writer and creative thinker by continuing to write and create new ideas. When I stop practicing, I stop growing and start
shrinking.
9. I selected
the pieces for my final project by looking over my old work and finding the
pieces that I loved and felt a connection to.
I was occasionally surprised by pieces I hadn’t realized I’d written.
10. My blog
reflects the pieces I feel proud of and want to share. They are the pieces I feel will change people’s
lives, perspectives, and level of boredom.
11. I will use
writing in my life to help people, share my thoughts, and enjoy the freedom of
writing whatever I want.
